If you can’t find the answer you need below, give us a call at (541) 336-2321 or stop by the branch. A real person will help you out.
Membership
Membership & eligibility.
Who can become a member?
Employees and members of our sponsor employers (Georgia Pacific, City of Newport, Lincoln County School District, and more) plus immediate family and household members. See our full field-of-membership list.
What do I need to open an account?
A valid government-issued photo ID, your Social Security number, proof of current address, and a $5 opening deposit for your membership share account.
Can I open an account for my child?
Yes. A parent or guardian can open a custodial share account for a minor — bring the child’s Social Security number and birth certificate along with your own ID.
Accounts
Checking, savings & certificates.
Is there a minimum balance on checking?
No. Our Share Draft (checking) account has no monthly fee and no minimum balance.
What’s a share certificate and how is it different from a CD?
A share certificate is a credit union’s version of a bank CD. You lock in a set rate for a set term. Early withdrawal incurs a penalty. See our current certificate rates.
How often are dividends paid?
Quarterly on savings, money market and club accounts. Certificate dividends follow the schedule selected at opening.
Can I set up direct deposit?
Yes. Grab the Direct Deposit Authorization from our Forms & Disclosures page, or ask a teller to fill one out with you.
Loans
Borrowing & applications.
How long does a loan decision take?
Most consumer loans are reviewed the same business day. Once approved and signed, funds are typically deposited to your Pacific Spruce account within one business day.
Is there a prepayment penalty?
No. You can pay off any Pacific Spruce loan early at no additional cost.
Do you offer bad-credit loans?
We don’t directly issue payday-style loans, but we partner with trusted matching services for members whose credit score blocks a traditional loan. See our bad-credit loans page.
Can I pre-qualify without hurting my credit?
Yes. We use a soft pull for pre-qualification. A hard inquiry only occurs if you accept a formal loan offer.
Digital banking
Online banking & app.
How do I enroll in online banking?
Head to the online banking page. You’ll need your member number (on your last statement or membership card), then follow the first-time user prompts.
Is mobile check deposit free?
Yes. Mobile deposit is a free benefit for members in good standing. Standard holds apply.
What if I forget my password?
Use “Forgot password” on the login screen. If you can’t complete the reset, call us and we’ll verify your identity and help.
Security
Fraud, cards & privacy.
My card was lost or stolen — what do I do?
Call the 24/7 card line at (800) 523-9078 immediately to freeze the card, or use the freeze toggle inside online banking. Then call the branch at (541) 336-2321 to arrange a replacement.
How do I report a suspicious email or call?
Forward the email to cu@pacificsprucefcu.com or call the branch. Never click links in an unsolicited email claiming to be from Pacific Spruce.
Will anyone from Pacific Spruce ask for my password?
No — never. We never ask for your full password, PIN, or one-time security codes by phone, email or text. Read more on our security page.
Rates & fees
Rates, fees & disclosures.
Where can I find current rates?
Our rates page lists savings and loan rates. Rates are subject to change without notice.

Are my deposits insured?
Yes. Pacific Spruce is federally insured by the NCUA to at least $250,000 per individual depositor, per ownership category. Non-deposit investment or insurance products are not insured.
